A relaxed garden with a formal feature central pond

The design brief was to install a feature central pond and a separate wildlife pond surrounded in wild areas to encourage nature and wildlife. They wanted to create the ideal outdoor space for entertaining with a kitchen garden and and a relaxing patio, creating a formal but relaxed area around the house.

Landscaping Project: Beautiful vista for outdoor entertainment

The design brief was to create the ideal outdoor space for entertaining large parties, to incorporate a raised bed vegetable garden and to prevent the risk of flooding by the swimming pool. The site was mainly large areas of lawn with a small amount of paving on the back of the house. The clients are on heavy clay and the lower part of the garden was susceptible to water logging. The wet winter made this a challenging build but we overcame this with a methodical approach, lots of boarding out areas and covers. Using plants and shrubs that we source from our dedicated suppliers who pride themselves on providing only the highest quality of plants, we surrounded the stunning paths and relaxing patio to create the beautiful vista.

This was a complex build on a difficult site, the weather and soil proved challenging but with hard work and experience, the team pushed through and turned this installation into a stunning success. The site was mainly large areas of lawn with a small amount of paving on the back of the house. The clients are heavy on clay, along with poor drainage the main lawn of the garden was susceptible to water logging, so first of all we installed land drains to prevent future flooding. The design brief was to create different zones with individual elements, yet remaining formal but relaxing, that work as a cohesive space to enjoy the stunning views of the pond. They requested that we add wild areas around the pond to encourage nature and wildlife. This outdoor space now provides a beautiful vista using the highest quality plants and shrubs with stunning paths, relaxing patios, an orchard and meadow and outdoor spaces to entertain large parties.

They wanted to create the ideal outdoor space for entertaining with a kitchen garden and and a relaxing patio, linked with stunning paths, creating a formal but relaxed area around the house. We carefully surrounded the areas with plants and shrubs locally sourced from our dedicated suppliers who pride themselves on providing only the highest quality of plants, to provide a beautiful view. Our main challenge with this project were from the access to the garden, all machinery, spoil and materials had to be exported and imported through the garage.
